Well, it's a giant fungus, an Armillaria Ostoyae in Oregon's forests which is believed to occupy an area as big as 3.725 square miles. Scary, right? These aren't quite as big (okay, they're nowhere near as big) but definitely more tasty. Time to admit that we really we only wrote this description so we could say "There's a humongous fungus among us".
