Sour Patch Kids

Sour Patch Kids were introduced in 1985 (and presumably so-named to ride on the back of the “Cabbage Patch Kids” boom of the 80s.  Man, those things were weird).  They’re a soft gummy candy with a coating of sour sugar; hence, they start off as a sour sweet, but your reward after getting through that is a nice sweet fruit gummy.  An element of risk vs. reward, we suppose, an important lesson for all kids to learn.  They’re not so sour that your face will turn inside out, but children certainly find them amusing!
