Maruchan

Maruchan produces more than 3.6 billion packs of ramen noodle soup a year, which we can all agree is a lot of noodles, so there must be something to them, right?  The name comes from two Japanese words, “maru” meaning round (with connotations of friendliness), and “chan” being an honorary suffix or term of endearment for a child.  So it’s a very nice word, basically, for something that’s pretty tasty.
